Flash: Penquin Bowling
Part I

You will use flash to
create the following "Flash Movie" which contains :
- A Background scene
- Sky with setting sun in background
- Water with floating icebergs in midground
- The edge of an ice flow in foreground.
- 6 penguins clustered together like bowling pins on the iceflow.
- A bowling ball which will "bowl over" the penguins.

1)
Open Flash CS3
|
- Start/Programs/ / Flash Professional CS3
|
|
|
2) Create
your Background scene. |
- Create separate layers for the background, midground and foreground.
- You may even wish to use more layers for the different
components of the background.
- Insert a Keyframe into Frame 1 of each layer.

- Use the radial gradient for the water.
- Window/Color Mixer
- Centre Yellow- Outside Blue
|
|
- The cast shadows for the floating icebergs should be a darker
colour of the area they fall over, not black!!
|
- Make sure to name the layers. (sun, iceberg, water, etc.)
- You may wish to "lock" the background layers to
prevent accidental changes.
- Click "padlock" column for the appropriate layer(s).

3) Create
a "penguin" as a "graphic symbol." |
- Insert a "new symbol"
- Insert/ New Symbol
- Select "Graphic"
- Name the symbol "penguin"
- Using the various drawing tools create a "penguin."

|
4) Create
6 "penguin" layers and add an "instance" of
the "penguin symbol" to Frame 1 of each penguin layer. |
- Add 6 layers.
- Name these layers Penguin1, Penguin2, etc.
- Insert a KeyFrame into Frame 1 of each of the penguin layers.

- Select Frame 1 of Penguin 1 layer.
- Open Library and place "penguin symbol" into position
on ice flow surface.

|
- You may wish to modify the instance using the "Color
Window" or the "Transform Window."
- Properties/Color
- Window/ Transform
- Repeat for each of the remaining 5 penguin layers.

|
|
|
|
5) Save your file as<penguinbowling.fla>
in your G drive.
